Are Jews monotheistic as opposed to Christians?

E-mail Print

< No. If you read the Torah, the “Holy Spirit” came down to many people. (Biblical)

Is the Holy Spirit another god according to the Jews? Does that make Jews polytheistic? No, the Holy Spirit is God’s power, or God’s spirit. Jews don’t worship the Holy Spirit only. It’s like worshiping a person’s hands. Instead they worship the whole, including the hands, God as a whole. It’s the same with Christians. Jesus was expected to come for the Jews as the promised messiah. Thus, the concept with the Trinity isn’t really new, it’s just more explicit.
