Can a lack of gravity cause the acceleration of the Universe?

>> The accelerating universe is caused by a dying force of gravity in the center. It appears to be accelerating because gravity is weakening, hence making it go faster.

< STRONG No. The universe is not accelerating due to the dying pull of gravity as people would think, but by something else.

Gravity weakening doesn’t make something go faster. Imagine a ball traveling up a curved ramp.

As the object climbs higher on the curved ramp, the gravity weakens. Does the object speed up? No, it is slowed down but continues going.
